1. I n the world of fashion, it seems as if trends are always appearing, disappearing, and resurfacing many years later. It's difficult to find brands that focus on classic and functional pieces, while keeping with popular styles. Brick Rd, an emerging Hoboken-based brand, has mastered the idea of "stylish and functional." Looking through their 2016 Spring/ Summer collection, we could easily imagine pairing different pieces of the collection together. I teamed up with Brick Rd to style transitional, professional, and weekender outfits for a fun (and fashionable) afternoon in Hoboken. Black pencil skirt & light jacket combo Working in a corporate setting, I like to dress comfortably while still remaining polished and professional. For a daytime look, I paired a simple, black tank top with a black pencil skirt, to create a blank silhouette for accessories. I then layered on a beautiful, cascading jacket to pull together the entire look. I love how light this jacket is; it's perfect for spring and summer, especially at night after work. This look is incredibly versatile – it can easily be worn during the day, and varied at night for a transitional look. Take off the jacket, and throw on some strappy heels for an easy day- to-night look. I find it so important to have versatile, classic pieces in my wardrobe, such as a black pencil skirt and neutral tank tops that you can pair with many items. I prefer to invest in classic pieces that I know will never go out of style.
